Calicut Heritage Forum invites applications from research students working (for MPhil/PhD) on the history and heritage of Kerala, for the Prof. K. V. Krishna Ayyar Award 2025.

THE AWARD

The Prof. K. V. Krishna Ayyar Award encourages original research in areas of history and culture of Kerala (and Calicut, in particular). It is open to MPhil and PhD students working in these areas.

One scholar will be selected for the award, which carries a cash prize of 25,000 and a citation. The selection committee consists of experts in the fields of history, culture, and archaeology.

The awardee will be designated as Prof. K. V. Krishna Ayyar Scholar. The award will be presented in Calicut on 9 November 2025, where the recipient will give a brief presentation on their research topic.

The Award arises from an endowment fund instituted by the Calicut Heritage Forum in association with the family of Prof. K. V. Krishna Ayyar and other donors, to commemorate the contributions of Professor Ayyar to the history and heritage of Kerala in general and Calicut in particular.
